This Smith / Parrish Cutaway Base is a refined version on the classic 1970s era single fin, with a bit of modernized. Subtle adjustments make this fin more dynamic, allowing for enhanced turning ability in small and medium size waves. Generally this fin works better with the smallest side bites possible added to the bottom of your surfboard.

This fin’s roots trace back to the 1970s on Oahu's North Shore, when Charlie Smith (one of Haleiwa’s finest surfers) developed his reputation while riding Lightning Bolt surfboards shaped by Tom Parrish. Unlike most of Parrish’s team riders, Smith spent as much time in the shaping bay as he did in the water. The Smith / Parrish partnership duo collaboration began then.

This cutaway fin is incredibly responsive and will provide a lively feel in waves of all shapes and sizes. There really is no other fin combination that makes performance funboard and longboarding so easy.
